Default Nightster Mini Ape Install Question.

Has anyone tried installing the HD mini ape handlebars yet?
I was just wondering if you could get away with the stock cables,
or do you need to go with longer cables to reach the controls?

I've seen people get away with the stock cables.&nbsp\\; I went with a new clutch cable from Drag Specialties and I also got a new front brake line from a Street Bob.&nbsp\\; Right now my throttle/idle cables are stock and they work just fine. &nbsp\\;

Could you have went stock with the clutch and&nbsp\\;fb?
If so,&nbsp\\;was it a comfortable install or was it tight?

I could have used the stock cable but for me it would have been snug.&nbsp\\; Same with my brake cable.&nbsp\\; I'd rather be safe than sorry, though. &nbsp\\;

I used my stock cables and brake line on mine.&nbsp\\; Just had to re-shape the brake line some, move the throttle cables on the outside of the forks and slide the clutch cable up some. Everything works good and i have no binding anywhere.

Man....off the top of my head I can't remember exactly.&nbsp\\; For some reason 45" sticks in my mind, though.

I think the stock line is 45", or I measured wrong.&nbsp\\; I'll do some more research.

i will vouch on what 07nightster says on the cables, i was with him when he installed his apes.....if you want to spend more money on cables, go ahead but if you want to save money then you can install the bars with no problems at all......so dont be scared to try.......
