Default POOL

OK thinking about putting up an above ground pool. You can order these and do them yourself. Has anyone here ever done one and if so are they&nbsp\\;that hard to do and if so would you do it again. You can pay someone to do it but at around 800 bucks. Any advice will be appreciated. &nbsp\\;

My neighbor put in a big one and it was a bitch, I thought. It has all of the plumbing etc. that an inground pool has including a separate shed he built for the filter.
&nbsp\\;
I took my excavator, tractor and laser level over there and did the excavation, leveling and smoothing for him. I didn't help after that but he said it was a really big job. Oh, I did come back and backfilled the ditches.

A non pool owner here, but I HAD 3 neighbors that had them.
They all took them down. A real PITA to keep them clean.
After watching them, I sure dont want one. JMHO.

We have an inground.neighbors have above.....treat the soil for Moles,etc and use the foam padding on ground before liner is put down........mole runs will cave in and cause pool liner tocave in as well and riiiiipppppp!. not a good thing. Also taper the bottom toward the center and pay the extra for return in the center will decrease clean up alot! (Make sure the grate cover is approved so it doen't trap a child with its suction) Also keep the skimmer return clean, this with the bottom return (You will be told you do not need the bottom and most do not offer it) but will decrease you clean up time...........good luck..........Marty

I put one in at what is now the Ex'es place. I swore if I had to do it again I would pay someone the $800.00. It was the largest they sold, 32' round, smaller one might be easier.&nbsp\\; &nbsp\\;Everyone used it for the first few years, now it is a large green eye sore, I think she is almost to the point of tearing it down.

Pools are like boats. It's better to have a friend with one.
