I've been thinking of selling my 07 RKC and stepping back to an 03 RKC. \\; What with the excessive heat issue, which I have, the bad crankshaft stories, it makes me wonder if my bike will hold up everytime I take it out. \\; I wonder how much of the issues with the 07's and 08's are pushed on these forms for business to help with sales? \\; Im not saying that the issues the the 07's and 08's are lies but???
Well, I don't get it. \\; I have an 08 and it is fine. \\; Tune it, upgrade it and it will run great. \\; Not sure what the issue is. \\; But to go back to an 03 Why?
people like you are going to have "issues" with everything. do your self a favor and buy a Honda.....

I dont know how much you've been reading on the web site about your bike but, There are papges and pages about heat issues, bad crank shafts for the 07 and 08 models. \\; I was told just today by a builder here on the forum that you only have about a 12% chance that your crank shaft will NOT go bad with the 07 and 08 models. \\; I was a matter of when it will go out and not if it will go out. \\; All I called about was to inquire about what cam should I put in to help reduce the heat, the next thing I know we where talking about doing a 117" build in order to make my bike right. \\; Like I said, \\; and I know this will probalby cause abunch of people to get mad, I think a lot of business are taking the issues with the 07's and 08's and using them to boost sales.
dude... buy the freaking Honda and be done with it....
sheesh...

I think your missing my point. \\; My bke runs great except for some excessive heat. \\; Not one problem with it at all. \\; Im trying to point out the fact that I believe issue with the bike a e overly exagerated in order to boost sales in the aftermarket.
Don't see the point, multiple relatively inexpensive fixes abound for the heat issue, Sounds like you're worrying about being worried. \\; If all else is well on a great ride why step back...On the other hand just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get ya'...[sm=bangbang.gif]
hmmmmm, well if I did it wouldn't be the first time. there are way too many chicken little," the sky is falling" types out there, you were starting to sound like one.
ride it, take care of it, love it... don't listen to the whiners. HDs have always run hot, makes it a great bike to own in the winter \\;-)

I do agree that steppng back is a dumb thing, \\;am \\; Istepping back, \\;No, Im not paranoid and I do know there not out to get me. \\; Im just trying to raise intrest in the hype of issues with the current models. \\; Like I posted earlier a simple call about what cam turned into a full blown rebuild inorder to make things right with a bike that currently has no issues.
