Thats a shame and that cager should be charged for negligence and vehicular homiced like anyone with operating under the influence! Whats the difference, being sober you shoud be more aware so there is no excuse to pull in front of a motorcycle!!!

+10 on that - gotta say though he might have stood more of a chance if he's been wearing a helmet though.

Are you serious?&nbsp\\; I will agree that from the article it looks like the car driver is at fault and should be charged but vehicular homicide?&nbsp\\; Give me a break, not even close.

Think the driver will be charged with anything?&nbsp\\; Lose their license?&nbsp\\; I&nbsp\\;don't know&nbsp\\;what the penalty is for something like this.&nbsp\\; Regardless, it's not going to bring the guy back.

We are in agreement with this.&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;While I&nbsp\\;believe in stiffer penalties, the system I would choose doesn't exist in any state that I am aware of.&nbsp\\; I would be for a system that suspends licenses and requires REAL driving classes that are similiar to entry level racing classes where the driver is behind the wheel of a car on a track with an instructor and learns techniques such as threshold braking, high speed manuvers, involves time on a skid pad, and an understanding of how weight transfer affects performance.&nbsp\\;
&nbsp\\;
I understand the anger when these things happen but you also have to take into account that it was an accident.&nbsp\\; It sucks that someone lost their life but it was not the cause (according to what I read) of neglect by the driver.&nbsp\\; It could happen to anyone that drives a car.
&nbsp\\;
Now, if it is found that the driver was under the influence, driving recklessly, texting, etc. then I say nail to the wall but I see way to often on this board and others that if a motorcyclist is injured or killed that people call for the driver's head no matter what.

Don't be ridiculous. It may be stupid, but the driver wasn't drunk and no crime was commited. If she had turned left in front of another car instead of a bike, causing an accident, you would never consider vehicular homicide.&nbsp\\;You need&nbsp\\;sufficient "culpability". At best, it was a negligent act and a traffic violation unless you can prove that it was done on purpose.

+1 Agreed....It is your choice to ride and, usually,&nbsp\\;there is no such thing as a small fender bender on a bike.&nbsp\\; While it may be our choice we have to accept the consequences of that choice.
