Default Fires in CA messin up my route? What is the take from the Locals?

I am scheduled to leave on our summer mecca mission. It WAS going to start by going up the 395 to Yosemite Valley, Up through Markleeville to Truckee/Tahoe, then across Lassen N.P and the 299 to Eureka then up through the coastal redwoods on into OR and Crater lake.
&nbsp\\;
One problem. You see, we in southern CA have had a couple of nasty fires in the past few years and I remember how bad the smoke was. I don't really feel like riding through that stuff and may flip the route to start through Vegas up to UT and CO then come back from the north (WA,OR, and CA)
&nbsp\\;
Anyone up in the Central/Northern CA area or along the route I have described, please post up and let me know if it is poison up there just now and if you know how long the fires/smoke will be going.

Thanks a bunch!

I live in the Reno/Tahoe area and it ain't pretty around here.&nbsp\\; Been bad for about 10 days.
The winds are supposed to pick up and hopefully blow some of the smoke out of here.&nbsp\\; If the winds are from the southwest it will only be temporary tho.&nbsp\\; Hopefully they'll be from the north.

Was supposed to do a coastal run on hwy1 this weekend coming from Reno, but U heard the 1 is not looking too good especially in the Big Sur area.&nbsp\\; Was in Yosemitie Valley today as a matter of fact, it is all clear around the park.

I'm in Lake Tahoe and there's still a little smoke but the wind has started clearing it out.

I think we will revise our route to include Yosemite, then west to the coast and stay somewhere north of S.F. Hoping for winds from the west.
&nbsp\\;
Anyone west of Yosemite, or north of S.F. have any input on what is in your area?
&nbsp\\;
Thanks to all that have offered input.
