Default Smoked fender tips LED light question.

I'll be the first to admit that I don't have a clue about the electrical end of these bikes, but I was wondering why the instructions on my smoked fender tips say to disconnect the battery?&nbsp\\;If it's just to prevent possible cranking of the engine, can't I just hit the kill switch or is there something else here I'm unaware of? Thanks.

Anytime you will be disconnecting/connecting wires , connectors, etc. it is always&nbsp\\;recommended to disconnect the battery for safety.

Hog, for the most part I think it is just something the manufacture puts in there to cover themselves.&nbsp\\; Working with lights and such I don't see the need.&nbsp\\; Sometimes I may remove the MAX fuse depending on the job I am doing but very seldom disconnect the battery.
