My bike has this problem also experiencing transmission whine in 3rd &amp\\; 5th gear,and clanking noise at times from 5th to 6th gear. hd customer service was no help nor dealer although many other new owners experiencing exact conditions. dealer and factory say its normal for others have no symptoms. no failure or accidents yet.

try a gear oil in the trans....like Spectro 6 speed or Redline shockproof heavy.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; I had same whine in my trans on an 07 deluxe....changed the trans oil from Syn3 to Spectro 6 speed, and the whine disappeared...for the most part anyway...&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; of course if you already have a heavy gear oil in the trans, then it could be something else.....
