Default '08 Speedo/Tach Combo - the clock is back

I just finished installing the speedo/tach combo in my '08 Heritage. Very simple install and well worth the cost. One thing that I noticed that might be new for this version is that the clock is back. [sm=goodidea.gif]Not a big deal but I thought that it was worth mentioning.

Clock? What clock? I don't have a clock. But I don't have an 08. Got a 03 and a 98. Got the speedo/tach combo on both. But no clock on either one.

07 and 08s came with a clock in the odo. Original speedo tach replacement eliminated the clock. They must have had some complaints and so added it to the combo. Nice touch.

Funny, mine still reads 12:00 after a year of having my baby. &nbsp\\;

Exactly how "simple" was this install?&nbsp\\; I'm thinking about that on my '08 Deluxe.
&nbsp\\;
I think I read on here about the tachs being "slow" or not reading exactly right?&nbsp\\; Have you ridden it yet?&nbsp\\; Does it work OK?

Which Speedo/Tach combo did you get?&nbsp\\; There are a few different variations I believe...&nbsp\\;

I have the one that has the ability to change backlight colors. The install took all of 15 min. I think that the process has been explained before on this site. Literally, you detach 2 plugs and disconnect the backplate from the speedo and pop it out. I used a small bladed screwdriver to detach the speedo from the backplate. Lubricate the rubber gasket with soapy water and slip in the new speedo. Connect the plugs and install the housing to the tank. Couldn't be easier. So far the tach responds to rpms just like any other tach that I have used. No needle stutter, hesitation or bouncing at idle. I only have a few miles on it but so far it seems like a rock solid unit. I really like the backlight option.
