I have built EVO that pings after 65 mph,I found that unplugging the voes reduces the sound level until get back up to 4k rpm. Am going to reck timing. Ant one else have same problem and a fix beside retarding the timing.

Crane HI-4 pn#8-2200 have the advance turned to lowest setting, Crane .490 lift and 296 duration cam, 10.5 SE pistons .020 bore, ported heads, HSR42 with 1st step richer needle at leanest groove-180 main-1 richer pilot jet, kuryakan twin velocity air cleaner, 91 octane. Runs great except for the nasty ping, sound like the psiton is trying to come through the head. Only noisey after 3k with voes hooked up at 4k with voes unplugged.
