Default Need help - Stage 1 Air Filter install - please!

Hi all - doing the high flow Screamin Eagle kit on my 2001 Ultra (injected) and ran into a snag. When removing the back of the old filter housing (grey football shaped back piece), there is an electrical sensor(?) bolted to the bottom. On the install directions, it doesn't appear to say where to attach this sensor. What am I missing?? Where does this go on the new plate? THANKS in advance for the help!

I think it is attached to the backplate of the original just to keep it from flopping around. I didn't attach it to the new SE backplate and it doesn't seem flop all that much. It isn't connected to anything, I think it may be used for diagnostics or maybe something else.

Thanks, Newhawk - probably will do as you suggested and check with a mechanic after the holidays. No problems running with the sensor unattached? I appreciate the response!

Mechanic says it's unused - zip tie is the correct solution. Thanks!

I have the same sensor wire on the back of my 07' soft tail. Installed the SE kit too....... Just zip tied the sensor to keep it from flopping in the wind.

HDI models have a solenoid operated trap door at the mouth of the intake. That connector is for that solenoid.
