I've never had to use the HOG Roadside Assistance, but \\;I figure it's only a matter of time until something breaks and strands me somewhere. \\; What's been the experience of \\;any here who have used the service?

I was at my girlfriends house and when I came out in the AM the bike wouldn't start (cell went bad in the battery). \\; I called HOG and was told they would locate a tow for me and call me back with the specifics. \\; About an hour and a half later, still no call. \\; I called again and was very politely told they were working on it and would call me as soon as they got a tow company. \\; It was about 4 hours later when I got a call that the guy was on the way. \\; The tow operator was an independent. \\; He was very professional and took good care of the bike. \\; I wanted it towed to a specific dealer that was about 20 miles away. \\; He got it there no problem. \\; If I remember correctly, I still got a small bill for over-mileage.
I've had a HOG membership for over 10 years now and will continue to keep it. \\; But if I was really concerned about roadside assistance I would probably add cycle coverage to my AAA membership. \\; More expensive, but they cover more and I assume they would be more responsive.
AAA Plus... That is the answer. \\; Do a search on HOG Roadside and after you read you will be convinced you do not want to find out how bad they are for yourself.
Well as always there are good storys and there are bad storys. I used the HOG RA once and the guy was there within an hour and even towed me to a dealer of choice. No charge. Guess I was just lucky!

I tried HOG, I don't know, I've got AAA RV Plus now. I've never had to wait more than an hour and can be towed up to 100 miles at a time. I tried to use HOG once, I've used AAA 5 times in the past two and a half years, I'm sticking with AAA.

I just signed up for Road America coverage through mrf.org. They cover 2 cars and 2 motorcycles for 47 bucks. Better coverage from the same company at a better price. MRF does not require you to be member to sign up under their organization. http://www.mrf.org/roadside.php#1

One word of caution on using AAA.. there is a 4 time use limit on it. You can just use it 4 times a year before getting either charged for additional uses or you have to move to a higher rate of coverage. Read the fine print.
i have never used mine . and i have heard  \\;good and bad. i know one guy he swears by it.i guess it depend on where you are at when you break down. i know it should'nt make a differnce but i guess it's like anything else.

Used HOG road side asst. once and it was great...no problems and quick. So this year i bumped it up to the Road America Ultra Pkg. Like said above, it \\;covers bikes and cars. It seems to depend on what part of the country members break down as to how good the service is. The smartest thing is to have something incase of breakdown....
