Default Anybody running Edelbrock 95" kit??

Hey all, getting back on a harley after a couple of years out of the saddle.&nbsp\\; I used to have a 94 softail custom with a slightly modded evo.&nbsp\\; That bike had bumped compression, ported heads, a good cam and S&amp\\;S super E carb.&nbsp\\; It ran GREAT, but I got tired of the heat and vibration.&nbsp\\; This eventually led to its sale.&nbsp\\; I have a mild case of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and I am very sensitive to vibration in my hands.&nbsp\\; I was wanting to know how well the&nbsp\\;Edelbrock kit runs and if the vibration has changed any over the stock TC88 in my 06 softail.&nbsp\\; I really don't want to spend that much money only to not enjoy the power because of the vibration in my hands.&nbsp\\; I guess I am just looking for everybodies opinions.&nbsp\\; Thanks in advance, Brian

Check your crank runout first. If not in spec, fix that first. Can be a cause of vibrations.......Also a bent trans shaft can do the same.

My 117 does not vibrate bad at all, way less than my stock crank did as the runout was well over spec. Also tune quality can come into play.

Oh and by the way, please dont go with an Edelbrock kit. Use a good head porter and machine shop, IMHO you results will be better as it wont be a universal kit like the edelbrock. A porter/machinist will get you a kit thats taylored for you....

I have the Edelbrock Kit on my 2005 RKC. It is smooth as glass except when idling. Typical of all touring bikes with the rubber mount set up.

I agree with Baggerdsm 100%
The Edelbrock kit will deliver more power than you have now without a doubt BUT as was stated there is a LOT more bang for the buck having your heads done for the cam you want to run....going with the Edelbrock Harley packages you will leave power on the table at the end of the day.

OK, I see what you are saying about the eldelbrock kit.&nbsp\\; Who do you guys recommend for the porting and such?&nbsp\\; I do all my own assembly and such, so that is no problem.&nbsp\\; I really like the twin cam, has just a touch of vibration when I whack the throttle to pass a car, but comes out of it quick.&nbsp\\; I am just was not wanting to make the bike uncomfortable on long hauls. What is the best way to fix the crank and is it pretty easy to check runout without tearing the whole thing down?&nbsp\\; Thanks, Brian

There is Baisley Performance&nbsp\\;(this is who I use), there is Head Quarters, Hillside Cycles, SBS,&nbsp\\;Big Boyz Cycle, just to name a few thgat will do you a good job.
To check&nbsp\\;the crank run out the cam's have to come out to get access to the pinion shaft. &nbsp\\;
