Default My thoughts on riding

Over the years that I have been here and also riding, I've seen a number of people post/say what they like about riding a motorcycle and I thought that I would repost some of my ideas. To me, it's about the experience more that anything. To me, it doesn't matter what kind of clothes that you&nbsp\\;wear or don't wear. It's not about the size of the bike that you ride. It's not about the make of your bike. It's not whether you wave or don't wave. It's not about the length of the ride. To me, it's a way to relax and unwind and be at peace with what's going on around you. This might sound odd to some, but when I ride I can actually put my mind someplace else, even though my eyes are watching the road. Pretty soon, when my mind is in the right place, I can ride endlessly and at the end of my ride I can look down and go WOW, I went that far. A lot of times, I don't even know where I am going, I just go and stop when I feel like it. Some of the people that I do have a problem with are those that think that their bike is better than anybody else's. Those are the kind of people that I try to stay away from. Even though we all have our ideas about what kind/style of motorcycle that we like to ride, it still boils down to one thing, it's the ride that means the most.
&nbsp\\;
So I just want to say this one more thing, go out and enjoy the ride and then you'll learn what I think riding is all about.
&nbsp\\;
Thanks

I was riding one day, stopped at a store for a drink, and another guy on a Harley was&nbsp\\;smirking at a guy on a crotch rocket.&nbsp\\; I said, "Ah, at least he is riding on two wheels".&nbsp\\; The guy gets off his bike and we could see that he had one leg and one prostetic limb.&nbsp\\; The guy on the Harley looked at me and said, "Guess he loves riding too?!?!!!"&nbsp\\;
&nbsp\\;
I love everyone that rides.&nbsp\\; For whatever reason.&nbsp\\; Just promote the motorcyclist please.......

I equate riding with a vacation. Doesnt matter how long or short, it clears the mind and gets me ready for the next day. If I worried about what other people rode or wore it would detract from the mini vacation that the riding experience is.

Riding at times is the best part of my work shift, that being the ride in and the ride home.&nbsp\\;

Usually go to the garage at 5:15 or so which means by 3:00 I'm pretty much done for the day. Nothing like a 10 miler before rush hour starts to clear the head of the days demons.&nbsp\\;

Springer:&nbsp\\; When I go for a ride just to ride I call it my 'wind therapy'.&nbsp\\; You described it perfectly.

Agree 100%.&nbsp\\; Only got 1 thing to add,&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;"You may get there before I do cuz I ride slow and easy but the end of the ride is still there."&nbsp\\; (I'm not into scraping pegs or getting there fast, been there done that).

I have always thought it was about the ride, when I rode an Allstate 350 or my ultra
