Default Touring front end on Dyna

Has anyone put a touring&nbsp\\;(ex.&nbsp\\;Road King)&nbsp\\;front end on a Dyna or more specifically an "03"&nbsp\\;Dyna Super Glide.&nbsp\\; If so what is&nbsp\\;involved?&nbsp\\; I have seen a Dyna Wide Glide&nbsp\\;w/ a Fatboy front end on it.&nbsp\\; I like the look of that.&nbsp\\; It looks old school.&nbsp\\; I see an advantage with the touring fork in that it would not take much time to hang a fairing on it for a long trip and then the same fairing could be removed just as easily once the trip was over.&nbsp\\;The Dyna w/ a RK front end would also weigh much less than a RK.&nbsp\\; Any help in this area would be greatly appreciated.

You do know that the F means touring bike X means Sportster and that Willie G put a Sportster front end on a touring bike to create the FX family, right?&nbsp\\; What you are suggesting kinda seems like reverse engineering.
&nbsp\\;It is ok to ask though, I didn't know anything about these bikes before I bought mine.&nbsp\\; These questions help me to learn.

but to try to actually answer your question (I read my reply)
You would want to make sure the rake would be compatible, that the cables would work, and you would probably have to rewire the whole front electrical system.&nbsp\\; There might be a problem with the instrument compatibility also. Just guessing, but the neck bearings might be the same.

Never seen this done with a RK front end but there was a thread recently where someone put a
Fat Boy front end on a Street Bob.

Valving &amp\\;\\\\\\; spring rate are both different. The fork tubes are 28.5" and your Dyna is 32" (from axle to top of tube/tree). You will need a new set of trees as the DXD 2003 SG is 39 mm and a FL is 41 mm. The trees on a 1989 ~ current have reverse rake trees of 4 1/2 degrees so the stock triple tree off of a FL will hit your gas tank. If you change the triple tree out to a standard stem behind the fork, the nacelle will not fit, you must buy a pre-1986 FL type.

Outside of: [ul][*]&nbsp\\;making your internal suspension match the weight of the rider and bike[*]&nbsp\\;either lengthing your fork tubes or shortening the rear shock to make the bike level[*]&nbsp\\;buy new trees from stem in front of the forks to standard no rake stem behind of the fork[*]&nbsp\\;a very heavy front end that is very inefficient in doing the job it was suppose to do[*]&nbsp\\;1" front axle that either needs a wide glide hub or spacers to match the 6.35" flange to flange rotor mounting[*]&nbsp\\;can not put a &lt\\;\\\\\\; 1986 nacelle on a stem behind of the fork triple tree[*]&nbsp\\;there are many better solutions available such as:[ul][*]&nbsp\\;Softail Heritage than switch the lowers to a Fl for duel disk brakes[*]&nbsp\\;switch to a 49 mm new style &lt\\;\\\\\\; 06 ~ current mid glide with my duel rotor conversion system &amp\\;Brembo brake calipers and 300 mm rotors[*]&nbsp\\;my inverted front end with 320 mm rotors &amp\\;6 piston calipers (36 lbs complete with calipers &amp\\; axle)

You might check out this link - not exactly the same, but will give you an idea of what is involved.
