i had a embarrassing situation this am.wet black top and wheels slipped so i took it to the shoulder and laid it down somewhat gentle.[:@]
Do you mean you can't shift gears? If so, I guess you could straighten the shaft - but \\; BE VERY CAREFUL TO SUPPORT IT, SO THAT THE FORCE YOU USE TO BEND IT BACK ISN'T APPLIED TO THE BEARINGS ETC. IT RIDES IN. You may have to take the sidecase off to accomplish this.
If you're mechanically inclined, you can probably do it\\; if not, take it to an independent if you want to save $.

I don't know how bent it is, so I can't say for sure.
when i pulled the shifter i saw the inner splines wer twister and i would guess the shaft might be bent 20 degrees.i wonder if i could use a pry bar and a block of wood and do in without breaking it open?im still bandaging my hand!!!![:@]
If it's the splined shaft coming out of the engine/tranny area, and not just the shifter lever that fits on the shaft, take it to the dealer.

Just my opinion..
