Default Transmission problem?

Hi all, I,ve got a 2002 Softail Standard, I live in Gibraltar&nbsp\\;Europe&nbsp\\;and have no&nbsp\\;dealership here. My problem is, start engine, clutch in, shift down into 1st, it clunks in as normal, release clutch and nothing! Nuetral light goes off as if in gear, I shift down again, nothing, only clunk in again, shift up once and it goes into third? whilst riding I shift up and it goes into nuetral? Still no nuetral green light showing. Is this a clutch or transmission problem, Heeelp. And is it costly, someone mentioned removing the whole transmission!!

Default RE: Transmission problem?

Probably shifter pawl or shifter drum issue. Maybe a broken or bent shifter fork or bad return spring as it sounds like it's not getting into gear. Could be the clutch but I doubt it. Yes, it will cost you some $$$ as it has to come apart to be repaired. I would check the shifter pawl first before I pulled the trans.
