Greetings all,
&nbsp\\;
After searching the web for some feed back on V/H Pipes, I stumbled upon this site.&nbsp\\; So, I thought I'd introduce myself!&nbsp\\; I recently traded in my 04 Fatboy on an 08 FLHX.&nbsp\\; It has the stock a/c and pipes.&nbsp\\; I've been thinkin of throwin on either the V/H Big Shot Duals Black Line, or the V/H Big Radius.&nbsp\\; Now V/H says that you have to run the Fuel Pak with it, and my local HD store (Salt Lake City HD) says that I shouldn't but that I have to have it Dyno'd.&nbsp\\; Now, I'm not the smartest cookie in the jar when it comes to the new ETC and EFI systems on these suckers, but I would think that it would self map and adjust to the new pipes.&nbsp\\;
&nbsp\\;
Thoughts and advice?
&nbsp\\;
Thanks all!

Nope.
Won't self map.
Of course V&amp\\;H wants you to run their FuelPak...MORE sales!
&nbsp\\;
There are better tuners out there.
&nbsp\\;
And...welcome to the Old Geezer Club!

You might be OK if you just change the mufflers and leave the air box stock. You will get many opinions on pipes and EFI tuners here. If you go for the full stage 1 which is mufflers and air cleaner then you will need to richen the fuel mixture. A download from your dealer is not enough IMO since it stays EPA compliant. I chose a SERT/dyno tune and my bike runs strong and relatively cool for a 96" motor.

I second Steve's comments.&nbsp\\; Anytime you change the pipes from stock, you'll need to increase intake air flow and remap your fuel/air mix.&nbsp\\; Your engine will run hot and lean if you don't remap your fuel/air mixture.&nbsp\\; Of course there are several ways to do this.&nbsp\\; The dealer Stage I download is a ripoff and waste of money.&nbsp\\; All aftermarket fuel mapping boxes have their advantages and disadvantages.&nbsp\\; Some say you'll need to do a dyno, some do not.&nbsp\\; I would suggest that a dyno run should be done, if you want the most TQ and HP with best MPG.&nbsp\\; You'll be much happier in the long run.&nbsp\\; Just my two cents!

Where have you been? This crap has been going on for weeks. Did you notice that none of the thumbnails show up? There are several other issues. Stick around and you'll see them all. [:@]
