Default Valve Timing and Engine Heat

&nbsp\\;I have read a couple of places that the valve timing can effect the heat output of the engine&nbsp\\;a lot. I have seen an explination of it, but the way it was explained was about as clear as mud.
&nbsp\\;I know it has something to do with intake opening and exhaust opening, but that's about it.
&nbsp\\;Are there any cam aficionados&nbsp\\;out there that maybe could expain what to look for the get the engine heat down?
&nbsp\\;I am going to put&nbsp\\;cams in my 07 this winter and I would just as soon get&nbsp\\;one that will help reduce the heat as well as increase the performance.&nbsp\\;
&nbsp\\;I'm at this time leaning toward the 37 Andrews or 500 HQ. Some of the specs are close and some aren't on these cams.

Possibly just the wrong forum for the question. Go to the main site page and try one of the others.

Need a tuner like PCIII or SERT to richen up the factory lean.&nbsp\\; Other than that, will need the tuner to map for the cam you choose.
