I'm looking to buy a new bike and I was wondering what the best price I can get on an 08 flhx?? I want bottom of the barrel, no abs and no cruise just a standard bike. I know the 09's are coming out soon so 08's should be dropping in price. This time last year leftover floor models were going thousands below there sticker price so I know that price difference was straight profit and I wanna take advantage this year. In other words what should my asking price be when that sneaky salesmen says what are you looking to spend.

I don't think you're going to get the deal you're hoping for.
My local dealer's sales are up 29% over the same period last year.
They hardly have any '08's on the floor.

My dealer is already sold out of 08 Street Glides. The showroom is already 1/2 empty. \\;\\\\\\; Harley cut 16,000 bikes out of prodction in April-June. \\;I am sure some dealers out there still have some inventory, but this year is not going to be like last year on the model year clearence.

I bet the dealers will deal on a leftover 105th anniv bike if you are interested. \\;
I dont care for the two tone, actually I have only owned all black bikes and I wouldn't feel right on anything else haha. I'm going to try like hell and hope for the best.
If you just want a plain black SG without ABS at a deal you might want to look at used ones. \\; I have seen \\;07s for $16K and 06s for much less.

Just go to different \\;\\\\\\;dealers (never tell a salesman what you want to spend), make that f^cker work for the sale.

You may have to go to a big town, my local shop is down to almost no '08s of any kind.
Let alone a Street Glide (very popular model, especialy in black).

The one thing I will say is "GET THE FACTORY CRUISE CONTROL" you won't believe how much you will use it.
The price \\;can/will vary thousands of dollars depending where you live. I picked my SG up one month ago and the dealer had 6 SG's (three were that matted finshed). I worked hard on the price and couldn't get the price folks in other states are getting (I live in So.Cal.). The dealer would just say if I wasn't buying one the next guy will, and he's right!
Dealers have no problem selling black SG's.

A local dealer should be able to check his computer for you to identify dealers in state and out who have that bike and give you the listings. \\;

Just left my dealer, and they had probably 5-6 '08's for $1500 off MSRP in Missoula. \\; I saw on here last week that Boise HD had 52 Tour Models @ $2,000 off MSRP. \\; You might try calling. \\; I know the Missoula HD can be pulled up on the net, and you can see the models. \\; If you call, ask for Tim.
