So my 08 has run perfect for the last 5000 miles, and this last weekend I park in front of the Branding Iron Saloon in Twisp Wa., for an hour lunch break, with the temps near 85 degrees.&nbsp\\; When I started the bike after lunch, it did the HIGH IDLE that many here have talked about.
I did the power on and off 4 times with no results.&nbsp\\; The idle did go down with a forward twist of the throttle.
After 4-5 tries to clear this mess with&nbsp\\;the 4 cycle switching. It did fix it self.
Question is...Now what do I do?&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; Go to the dealer and tell them the bike was broke, but know it's fine?

Does anyone know of a permant fix for this? Thanks in advance.

bought my 08 FLHX 3 weeks ago, 1400 miles, having experienced this shortly after getting the ride, i was surprised to find how long this problem has been going on....latter 2006. what i found more stunning was the Service Techs response when i reported the problem at the 1000 mile check. "Harley is working on a fix", what B.S. is that...alomst two years later and they are still working on a fix....and i don't mean turning your ride off and on 4 times.
spoke with another HD dealer, waiting for info call back....but something tells me i'll have to get rude and down right nasty with them.
the reality: i feel a screw job coming and i doubt there will be a dinner first....and you can forget about flowers and a good night kiss.
