Default Crash and insurance money

Cager cut me off and then slammed on brakes to make right hand turn.&nbsp\\; Locked them up but still hit him and got thrown.&nbsp\\; He left, nice guy.&nbsp\\; My insurance is paying and they are talking about pain and suffering money.&nbsp\\; I'll miss four days of work and am pretty sore.&nbsp\\; No broken bones, just sore muscles and bruises.
&nbsp\\;
Anyone have any idea what I should ask for?&nbsp\\; They brought it up but haven't mentioned a figure until I feel 100%.&nbsp\\; Any idea on money range?
&nbsp\\;
One other thing, since I can't prove the other guy was uninsured they are making me pay my $1,000 deductable on collision.

I'm only being offered $500 for pain and suffering, anyone else have an experience close to mine?&nbsp\\; What did insurance offer?
&nbsp\\;
Thanks, Dave

Since it was a hit and run it will be out of the uninsuranced motorist which does not effect premiums in CA

Default RE: Crash and insurance money

I had a bad wreck last year.&nbsp\\; An flatbeed 18 wheeler dropped a loading ramp in front of me and kept going and was never found.&nbsp\\; My wife and I hit the pavement at 70MPH and received numerous injuries.&nbsp\\; The first thing I did was call the state ABATE lawyer and hired him to interact with my insurance company.&nbsp\\; I was glad I did.&nbsp\\; The insurance company tried to pass it off as my fault and did not want to pay.&nbsp\\; Needless to say, after over a year, they paid up.
&nbsp\\;
If you dont have a lawyer, then stop talking to the insurance company, and talk to one.&nbsp\\; If you have then you are in the best place you can be in given the circumstances.&nbsp\\;

Be careful.&nbsp\\; I got $2k for P&amp\\;S after an accident but I also had to sign something saying I wouldn't sue.&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;If you're not confident that your med insurance will cover anything that may come up......get a lawyer!&nbsp\\;
