Default slight lurch

07 road king..I got this bike with 106 miles on it . now it has 1200 and it still does it...when the bike is cold ( first ride of the day) When I put it in first gear the bike lurches forward a bit..at about 500 miles I drained the primary oil and replaced it with redline mtl and the lurch isnt quite as bad... readjusted the clutch center nut ( losened cables, found zero lash, backed nut 1/2' turn, locked her down, adjusted cable to 1/8' play at handle... no change... after the bike has been run, even a block, I can stop put it in neutral then to first and is smooth as can be...any one else have this problem or have ideas of whats up???

Default RE: slight lurch

That is your clutch dragging a bit when it is cold because the oil is viscous. Normal. If you put MTL in it that is about as thin as you want to go viscosity wise.&nbsp\\;Try letting the bike warm up for a minute or two and then work the clutch lever a few times before you make that first shift. FWIW, your clutch should&nbsp\\;start engaging at about 1/2 inch pull on the lever so the plates seperate completely. But you have a new bike&nbsp\\;so let the clutch break in for a few thousand miles before you do anything else. If you have to pull the lever 1/2 way in before engagement re-adjust it.
