I bought a set of chrome lowers for my NT. They were used with supposedly 400 mile on them, and came all together with the fork tubes, springs etc. I emptied the fork oil out and then installed them onto the bike. Then I pulled the bottom drains out and drained it all the way out. The service manual said to add 12.5 oz if the forks are in the frame. I did exactly that but it seems spongy. I have&nbsp\\;never really held the front brakes and rocked the bike back and forth to compress the springs, but it just seems to have an awful lot of travel. I have not ridden it yet to feel the ride. I added the exact amount the service manual said. Could it just be me?

As long as it doesn't bottom out, lot's of travel is a good thing.
Also reccomend HD Heavy Duty fork oil.

+1 on the Heavy Duty fork oil. It made a noticable difference on my Heritage.

I used the Harley Type E fluid that was recommended in the service manual.

If I hold the front brake, rock the bike, and push down REAL hard , I can bottom it out.

Sounds like spacers may not have been installed, are you sure you got ALL the parts?
