Default Slayed a Deer, pics, need throttle cable etc...length?

I was riding home from a local bike night here in York, PA last Thursday and was about 1/4mi. from my house driving on a farm road.&nbsp\\; I was coming up over the crest of a hill around 40mph and a deer is walking down the side of the road with his back to me.&nbsp\\; I try to slow down and go in the left lane to get as far away as possible.&nbsp\\; Im thinking im past him and the next thing I know his head is draped over the handle bars and his body whips back and slaps off my leg and the side of the bike.&nbsp\\; I can thank my lucky stars that I had the engine guard on (which i have always detested) because his body completely wrapped around that and I think kept the deer from breaking my leg or ripping me off the bike.&nbsp\\; Cause here's the kicker, I didn't even fall off and the deer got slaughtered.&nbsp\\; I rode home cause I was so close and came back up in my truck right away to find about&nbsp\\;a 150-170lb 4 point with one antler freshly broken off laying in the middle of the road.&nbsp\\; I drug it off the road-still somewhat kicking (it must have broke its neck) and had my buddy come pick it up to butcher.&nbsp\\;
&nbsp\\;
The damage to the bike was minimal considering what happened, headlight bucket got dented from being pushed into the triple tree, front turn signal stalk bent horribly, both lenses missing on that side, rear turn signal bent, dime sized dent in tank, risers twisted back so the bars are crooked but I dont think bent, and the throttle cable sheathing is all ripped up and badly bent coming off of the bars.
&nbsp\\;
So all-in-all I feel lucky as hell I didn't go down.
&nbsp\\;
So thats the&nbsp\\;story and my question is can somebody tell me the length of the 2008 Softail Custom factory throttle cable so I can possibly get one and have the bike safely rideable for bike night this week.&nbsp\\; Thanks
&nbsp\\;
Here's&nbsp\\;a camera phone pic of the deer right when it happened, he was still in velvet.

&nbsp\\;
This was the road the morning after on my way to work.

&nbsp\\;
&nbsp\\;
And here was&nbsp\\;my bike the day before the incident, the dent is right under "son" in the Harley logo.

That's something I really don't want to see in my life, glad that you were ok. [>:]

Someone here will be able to help you with the cable length

You're the second deer poster I've read today! Yes you were extremely lucky not to go down. I guess I will have to post my bear slayer story that happened a few weeks ago in the Smokey Mountains.

OK, the link didn't work, if you really want the part number go to the harley website and check out their throttle/idle cables for softails, they have a link to the cable length diagram.

And you should feel lucky, that could have been really bad. Happy you and the bike are OK.
