Just installed V&H big r 2-1, sounds great. Getting ready to install D&M cone breather and then tune with SERT. Is the connector for the SERT under the seat? What map should I use? Any ideas would be great. This is my first experience w/ a SERT. Thanks

nj, \\;I haven't read about anyone with a Rocker doing the SERT themselves. Always was a dealer on the dyno. I would suggest you try posting in the tuning section of the forum. There are more do it yourself people there and maybe someone can answer your question. The dealer did my SERT.

+1 Dealer did mine when I did the Stage II big bore and again when I did the V&\\;H BR 2-into-2 pipes
Thanks guys, Do you think it will be ok if I install the breather and drive it for a week before my scheduled service at the dealer (AKA-ripoff). \\; Did I need to buy the SERT if the dealer is going to dyno it?
 \\;
Mike, I think I got the same breather as you.

Here in Italy the dealer was mounting it and installing just a map from the disk... nothing more than I could do...
But after some situations the answers were: We can try to fix, but we do not have the dyno machine, it's your mistake (mine) to have mounted strange exhaust... (Legal Street from Austria - 2in2 - BSL TOP CHOPP)...
The same disasters, trust me, I could do by myself...
Now I'm in Iraq, looking for something serious to fix the situations with the SERT, but no one right explanations or no one right map to buy...
Like calib9 says, make sure your dealer actually has a dyno. A SERT tune on a dyno goes for around $400 give or take a little. If you dealer doesn't have a dyno, then all they're going to do is upload a map off the SERT CD to your ECM. If they do that, it shouldn't cost more than half an hour of labor. If they're charging more than that for labor and don't have a dyno, call B.S. on them. If they don't back down off the price, take it home and install a canned map yourself.
I find it hillarious and infuriating at the same time that most HD dealers pedal the SERT to it's customers as something that _HAS_ to be done when pipes are installed and then all they do is plop on a canned map. If you're running non-standard stuff, then the map you get will be a closest-fit kind of deal. Considering that a canned map is a closest fit deal anyway, that just compounds the situtation even more. The stealers are trying to have their cake and eat it too, and the SERT is too expensive to not be properly utilized. If it _NEEDS_ to be done, then it needs to be done right. What's even worse is that there's a lot of people that will blindly spend the money when they aren't receiving the service that they think they're paying for.
