Default fxsts springer shimmey

I own a fxsts softail springer. when I get up to 60mph and above the frontend starts to shift back and forth about 2 times per second and then about 90mph 4 times per second. It only does it when i am off the throttle. Has anyone had this problem or heard of a fix?

Don't know what year you have but have or ever had the frontend serviced?

Mine was sloppy until I had it serviced. They replaced the neck bearings and it made a big difference.&nbsp\\; Mine is a 96 I bought last year.

NECK BEARINGS PROB NEED TO BE ADJUSTED...CHECK THE FALL AWAY(GET THE FRONT END IN THE AIR AND LEVEL AND TURN THE HANDLE BARS A LITTLE AT AT A TIME UNTIL THE FRONT END FALLS TO ONE SIDE BY ITS SELF)
I&nbsp\\;THINK IT SHOULD BE ABOUT 20 DEG. IF IT IS LESS THEN THE NECK BEARINGS NEED TO BE TIGHTENED
TRY IT IN BOTH DIRECTIONS UNTIL YOU ARE SURE HOW MUCH FALL AWAY YOU HAVE
I&nbsp\\;WOULD GREASE THEM BEFORE I START THE ADJUSTMENT
IF THE BEARINGS ARE BAD OR TOO LOOSE &nbsp\\;SOMETIMES IF YOU ROLL BACKWARDS AND HIT THE FRONT BRAKE YOU CAN FEEL THEM CLUNK

Obviously it could be a number of things, but I would put my money on the back tire. Check it's alignment and tire pressure.

yup I assumed that he checks his tire pressure and condition...I should not have.&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;A
&nbsp\\;under inflated front tire will also give you funky feed back as well
