Default True Duals too loud?

So, I am ready to do exhaust on my new Deluxe, but am a little worried that if I switch out pipes, my bike will be to loud. I love the look of the Samson fishtails with their continuous diameter... unlike the V&Hs that start to bulge half way through. I would suppose that they bulge because of the baffles, but are they any quieter? My wife and neighbors will kill me if they get much louder than stock...

Are the true duals too loud? How much more than stock?

Thanks for your help!

Matt

I don't think you could find anything as quiet as the stock fart cans.&nbsp\\;

I recently put Samson's on my Deluxe (S-430), I'm realy happy with them. The mufflers do get larger but look straight because of the heat sheilds on the pipes are the same dia as the mufflers. Non baffeled are way to loud and sharp sounding, these are loud when you get on it.

V&amp\\;H are just fine. I sometimes leave at 3 AM and nobody has said anything yet.

I couldn't live with stock, these are just right. Loud enough but not obnoxious, the quality and fit was very good.

It's not quite true duals, but I have stock duals with slip-ons on my Springer. The sound is just right for me. When I'm just riding slow out of my driveway and the neighborhood they aren't too bad. When I lay on the throttle at a stoplight they have a nice sound that gives me a bit more than the stock pipes did. Then when I'm at cruising speed on the highway I can barely hear them.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; Perfect for my touring needs.

(Oh, and as a side note the slip-ons I got have steel wool baffles in them).

I have a set of samson big sweepes and everyone loves the sound and most important I do. \\I would say they are on a bit louder than V&amp\\;H or at least a deeper tone ....which is what I love about them.&nbsp\\; As for quality they are holding up great...all I heared was samson was suspect on quaility, bad welds etc......to me thats a bunch of sh-t. Thses pipes are made right.

As far as your neighbors....come on man....its a harley

Can I add to the question? I am about to buy V&amp\\;H Trueduals...is the quiet baffle needed? Are they too loud otherwise? Sorry for butting in on this string, but the search doesn't work right now and since I am in the same boat as The Salt, thought I'd ask y'all...go without them or add them?
&nbsp\\;
Thanks!!!
