Default that engin knock

The knock came and went. Then it came and stayed as a rattle this past weekend. I took the bike (03 fatboy, 95 cu in) to the local HD dealership. The problem was the compensator nut. No lock tight from the factory. It had backed off. No major damage. Hope this helps someone out there.

That's amazing since they usually over-use loctite.

You would expect a QA department to catch that kind of thing. Thank God you recognized the abnormality for what it was...and didn't ignore it. I can imagine a less experience rider might have had a hard lesson learned. I trust the dealer took care of you and at least apologized?

Is this something that might have been picked up at the build on the dealers floor?

Glad you and your ride are good.
