Default fix for windshield blown off

This is how I bent the wire clip to fix the windshield, so the wind can’t blow it off. The clip was bent wrong from the factory. I can no longer push the windshield off from behind. Thanks George

I read the other post about this, went out in the garage and mine were bent way too high, just waiting for strong wind to mess up my day. I removed the windshield and bent the catches waaaaay down so they catch like your bottom picture when it's installed. Hopefully we are good to go now.

Rich check and make sure that the angle around the rubber grommet is like the pick. Mine was not. Even with the spring bend down it would still come off. So I bent the clip where it goes around the grommet. Now I have to clip the wire catch in place. There is no way it will come off now. George

Thanks for the tip. I was wondering why the springs were that way. Just picked up my new RK last week, and being a newbie, tips like this are very important. Thanks.

Guess I better make sure I keep my helmet on to keep from taking a shot to the forehead from my windshield...

Hog Back lol they only blow off with a push from the back. So make sure you have your helmet on if you are standing in front of your bike in the wind. George

Maybe your nuts are to loose!

When I put the chrome nacelle on my Roadking I found that if you overtighten the nuts on the
outside of the mounting rubber, the windshield goes in, and comes out, alot harder. Try tightening the nuts a little.
