This probably won't help much on a Sunday evening, but I bought a big syringe and a length of 1/4" tubing. I suck the syringe full of brake fluid, stick the end of the tube on the bleed valve on the caliper, open the valve about a quarter turn and inject the fluid from there. It pushes the air bubbles up to the master cylinder. Be careful there's no air in the tube, and keep an eye on the fluid level in the master cylinder (it fills up quick).
A couple of things I learned doing it the hard way-
Make sure you close the bleed valve before releasing the brake lever.
Don't over-open the bleed valve. If fluid comes out around the threads, air is probably getting in.
Lightly tap the brake lines with a small wrench, especially any fittings with angles on them, to dislodge bubbles stuck there.
Pump the lever several times between opening the bleed valve.
The hardest part is removimg the air from the lines, well it's not difficult but time consuming. You will need to use the plactic end of a screwdriver and gently tap the reservoir and move the brake leaver in and out at the same time. You will need to judge the amount of movement by the air bubbles that come out, sometimes you only require very little movement of the lever.
You did not say what your problem is. Did you disconnect the brake line or did the brake stop working and you tried to fix it. I assume it has something to do with the handlebar swap you have been doing.
Heather, get a new (never had oil or anything else in it) squirt type oil can. Attach a 1/4 inch piece of rubber hose (fuel line hose) with a small hose clamp to the spout on the oil can. Open the brake bleeder about 1 turn. Attach the other end of the hose from the oil can to the brake bleeder with a small hose clamp. Fill the oil can with fluid and begin to pump the lever slowly watching for air in the master cylinder. When no more air is present, disconnect hose from brake bleeder, tighten bleeder and you are done. Instant brakes. Takes about 5 minutes to bleed them. Works on both front and rear brakes.......................BG

Okay Sean put new 16 inch apes on his bike. To do this he had to recable with braided steel cables. All he did was connect the new cable and ever since we have been trying to figure out this brake bleeding procedure. You get 30 different versions from 30 different people. Here is what we know. There are no bubbles. The fluid appears to be traveling thru the tube but we don't get any out of the bleeder and no bubbles in the master cylinder. What could be the issue?????? We are VERY FRUSTRATED RIGHT NOW!!!!!! [:@]
