Our Laughlin trip 2006
Started out on Weds. and headed to Laughlin. Checked in and made some foot patrols to see what all was being setup vendor wise. Thursday morning started with breakfast and vendor shopping. Lots of walking, water, and Jack Danials drinks. (thank god for the water taxi) Thursday night we went to the Marshal Tucker band concert had a good time.
Friday morning got a phone call from Grover and desided to meet and do the poker run together out to Kingman. Had a blast and it was a pleasure meetting a fellow forum member. After the poker run grover and his wife headed to Needles to meet some friends and the wife and I desided to head out on our own little adventure starting with Lake Havasu and the London Bridge, then it was on to see Parker Dam. From there we missed a turn off and found ourselves in videl junction or something like that............rechecking the map and asking around we got back ontrack towards Laughlin. It was a long but very enjoyable day of riding and when we arrived back to the hotel, we found that our day took us for almost a 300 mile cruz thru the southwestern deserts. Saturday was the remainder of vendor patrol and after a nap waiting for another phone call, we desided to head to Oatman on our own and its a good thing we did, while there was still alot of bikes there, we found that the town was rolling up the sidewalks as soon as they could clear the stores. Very cool place and we will return another time to take in all there is to see there.
Sunday morning I was ready to pack up and head home. Barely got all the extra goodies bought, packed for the ride home.
Since this was our first trip to Laughlin, we found ourselves dedicated to day time fun and events, leaving the nights to the more seasoned attendees. Now we know that each hotel vendor list was basicly the same with a few special additions, we can plan next years vendor patrol to a single day for buying shirts and stuff. This will leave us riding time during the remaining days andtime to check out the night life of the event next year.
Will post up some photos after work today.
