Want to buy a Wide Glide. At the local dealer they have a 2004 Wide Glide. Can anybody tell me if there is any changes between a 2004 and a 2005? The 2004 is about $1200. less than a 2005 out the door.

The only thing I would say is that if you plan on selling or trading up then the '05 is going to be your better value. If you're planning on keeping it for a long while and paying it off then save the money with the '04 or get some more chrome!

The only thing that I could find different is that the 2005 has the newer style headlight.

I just came across the same deal. New 04 or 05. 04 differences were the headlight and also the 05 valves are smaller. I paid $70 for a new headlight and went with the 04. I used the savings for a 95 bb,heads,cam,etc.

I have an 04' .. I like even numbers, they just feel better. But, I would definitely agree with 12stones. Get the 04' and buy more chrome stuff

2005 heads

Another thing to consider about the '05. The spokes on the rims are chromed instead of cadmium (or whatever) plated. I am not talking about the profile rim either. This is the standard rim, but the spokes are chromed for '05. I think that goes for any HD with chrome rims.
