Ok, after 2 weeks of riding in cold rainy, crappy weather, the Panoptx Chinook FX glasses are not performing as I had hoped. I'm getting a lot of wind coming in through the vents, causing my eyes to water a lot, and if I'm stopped for any length of time, such as at a long light, they fog up. They defog quickly after I get rolling, but I've already been forced to take them off because I couldn't see... which kinda defeats the purpose of the glasses.
All in all, I'm disappointed, especially considering the amount of dough I dropped on them.
I found they would come off my face without the tether, so I'm using that to snug them up against my face.
Anyone else have these problems, or know how to fix them?
I bought a pair of Oakleys (big dogs or mad dogs-something like that) and had dark prescription lenses put in them. They are curved and hug your face. Very little wind and no problem with fogging. Really like them alot.
Does anyone know where I can get goggles that will fit over prescription glasses. Gawd, I know that they must have so much of a "Kewl Quotient" that they prob. come with the nose piece taped together...but sometimes, you need what you need.
Art,
When I used to ride dirt bikes (a couple of years ago) I had bought some goggles that are designed to be worn over glasses and are only about 1/4" taller than regular ones.... The were Scott USA OTG type (over the glasses) and I know that Smith also makes some.
Check out the below Dennis Kirk link for some ideas...
My wife has them, and really likes them. She has no problem with them fogging up, and I think they are garranteed not to. If I were you , I would contact the company. My wife had one pair that were defective, and the company sent her a new pair within a week. The company really aims to please.
I've got the wileyX's and they will fog up even after spraying them w/novus windshield cleaner- so I found that loosening the strap will allow a little more air in and that seems to help.
