Default When do you adjust clutch?

I am curious when you guys adjust your clutches? Every 5000 miles ,2500 miles or just when it feels like or looks like it has too much slack? It doesn't appear to be a difficult job but I hate to mess with something if it seems to be working fine! Look forward to you responses!

It depends on your riding style /type but most adjust it when you see it needs it, key thing is to do it before slipage occurs to eliminate excessive wear. Service manuals should also be used as a guide.

I check the freeplay on my clutch everytime I ride it. If there is some freeplay (not much) then, it's OK. Also, be sure to check the freeplay when the engine is cold since the freeplay increases as the engine heats up. The book says to try pulling the clutch cable and looking to see if there's 1/16 to 1/8 of space between the cable and the clutch housing. I just look for the right feel at the clutch lever and go for some freeplay (not much :-) ) there.
