Default Motorcycle Lifts

Does anyone here have any good advice or experience with motorcycle lifts? I would like to get one for routine maintenance and cleaning and have been looking around. Pitt Bull Motorcycle lifts seem pretty nice, especially if you watch the video clips of them in action. However, they are pretty pricey. $500 +.

What do you guys & gals reccommend?

I don't know how fancy, aka, "pricey", you want to go. Sears has motorcycle "jacks" for less than $100. Check them out online.

There's another thread running re: the Sears model being on sale this week. Either $69 or $79. I plan to get one.

The Craftsman Motorcycle/ATV Jack, Mod. # 34612 is currently on sale at the Sears website for $69.99 plus shipping. If you are a "Craftsmans Club" member, you can get it for the same price at the store until 6/12/05. Its $79.99 (reg. $89.99) if you're a non-member. Hope this helps.

I purchased one from Sears for $ 79.00 and it works great on my Heritage Classic. Just used it last night to clean and wax my scoot.

Regarding the Sears motorcycle lift, the rubber non-skid pads have pulled off of mine so many times that the rubber "pegs" have broken off. The pads MUST stay on the lift; otherwise, the bike will be dumped eventually. I decided to glue my pads on. I took brake parts cleaner and cleaned both the pads and the lift areas. I then took GORILLA GLUE and ran two small beads on the METAL lift sections where the rubber pads go. I then took a spray bottle and sprayed a small amount of water on the backside of the rubber pads - slapped it together and used weights to keep pressure on the pads. Next day, wow, no more pad slippage at all!!! Too much glue will oooze, so, don't use too much - the glue expands quite well.

I had a Handy lift a few years back and sold it when I sold my last bike. (Paid $700, sold $600).

Well, I bought another road glide and didn't see the reason to spend so much so I happened into a Checker Auto and bought a mc jack lift for...

Believe it, $49.95! It has two fixed straight rolling wheels and two rotating so you can move the bike anywhere (on concrete). It comes with a jack handle that doubles as a direction/push/pull handle. Great deal.

It lifts my bagger 15" into the air with no problem. If you don't need the platform and don't want to spend lots, this is the bad boy. It looks almost the same as the others mentioned above.

Hope this helps out someone.
