Default I'm First!! My new '07 L'Rider picture and review

Just got it home from the dealer. Temp is over 100 degrees right now here in Dallas so I'm going to sit back with a glass of cold ice tea, read through the manual and see if I can get some ride time in tonight when it cools down just a little.

First impressions (totally stock except for quick detach windshield, backrest and rack):[ul][*] The Suede Blue Pearl/Vivid Black color combo looks much better in person than on the website.[*] This is the lowest seat height bike I've owned and at 5'6", I'm wondering what took me so long to get one. Fits like a glove.[*] The stock pipes sound very nice - actually a little throatier then the stock pipes on my FXDC or FLTR. Of course, it's no substitute for a set of SE or V&H but it definitely doesn't sound "muted".[*] I didn't get it past 3k RPM on the ride home but it definitely has a little more grunt off the line compared to my '06 Dyna. But in all fairness, I've not ridden another Dyna in almost a year so I may not be making an accurate comparison. It DEFINITELY feels stronger than my '06 RoadGlide - no doubt due to the better power/weight ratio.[*] The LED lights are GREAT!!! At one point, I had the sun right to my back and yet I could see the idiot lights with no problem. I'll be interested to see how they look at night.
[/ul]I'll post a more thorough review after I've had a chance to complete the break-in and get more comfortable with the bike.

By the way... Ex- 49'er/Dallas Cowboy Charles Hailey was purchasing a RoadGlide while I was at the dealer and in fact, he had to wait on me to finish my paperwork before he could take delivery. He seemed very excited about buying the bike and we spoke briefly about the R'Glide probably being the best of the Harley baggers. He was very friendly (although I'm sure there are some quarterbacks who'd disagree) and I'm kicking myself for not getting my picture taken with him while we were going through my delivery.

Dude, that friggin color rocks. There's no doubt you're going to love that thing. I saw the blue suede and black on a touring model and thought it was great, but it looks a heck of a lot better on the FX.

Interesting update to the break-in procedure. In the past, the manual recommends that for the first 50 miles, you keep the engine at or below 3k RPM and then under 3500 RPM until you hit 500 miles. For '07 (at least with the Dynas), your break-in recommendations are 4k and 5k respectively. This makes break-in FAR less painful for those of us who don't go by the "ride like you stole it" procedure.
