Default How can I call them "half a Harley" now ??

I'm used to riding /being around rigids and old school style bikes. Two of our "group" ride Ironheads , or did. One of the guys just showed up with a 06 sportster. I guess I haven't been paying attention to them lately , wow they really grew up !! 1200cc stock , and a LOT bigger looking bike in general. This thing almost dwarfs the Iron head, so how can I call it a half a harley when it looks like that ?? Is that term even used any more or am I giving away my age LOL. Just really wanted to say that I am impressed with what harley has been doing , I may have to go bike shopping , I hear those dyna's are looking pretty good too.

I thought I better edit this to add , please don't take this serious or offensive , it was meant lighthearted and only to compliment Harley on their new breed of sporty, it has really changed since the 70's

yeah, it's a girl's bike, wanna race. LOL. funny how people think an 883 is small for a sportster. what size were they really when they were called 900s--883s. chuckle. if you want to call a particular model a girl's bike, it's a fatboy/heritage. i see more women at rallys on these than on sportsters.

True, I suppose because of the low seat height.

A lot of people always mistake mine for a Dyna before they see the air cover. They've done a lot with them.

I had one in the early 80's and it was a great bike! In spite of being AMF, I wish I still had my 1/2 Harley Skirtster!!!!!

Yea , ain't it amazin. An American product improving.
I was telling the wife today in reference to new pipes that you don't just mount the pipes and then set the mixture and idle on the carb. As I'm trying to figure out what and how to get and use a map. I said I longed for the good old days of using wrenches and I still miss the chain. But, after a moment I had to admit that the old super glide did not glide as smooth as my 2006 dyna; nor, was it as nimble.

I own a 1200 c my friend just bought an 06 softail

My sporty for lack of a better term is more ill -mannered then the softie

Harder to ride the softail feels like a car on takeoff as opposed to the sporty's abruptness

The rake is longer on turns on the softie but all an all the softail is much easier to ride then the sporty

So much for a chicks bike or half a Harley

The sporty reminds me of my V8 Vega , no nonsense no frills but get up and go

The softie is reminsent of my Monte SS great looking great ride decent preformance
