Default ebay bikes round and round

I have been kind of thinking about getting another ride (one with rear shocks) to blast around town with and so have of course looked at ebay. My lord , 90% of those folks are real real proud of what they have !! So now that I have been watching for a few weeks , I have noticed the same bikes getting re-listed , so my question is, in a small town area (9000) is there anything other than ebay ?? Or do you just mail those guys and give them a realistic offer and see what happens OR I have been thinking screw it , with the money they want for an older used bike, I could buy a brand new sporty custom or maybe even a no frills dyna and have a solid base to start fresh with. sooo
where do you bike shop
would you buy big twin used with extras (hopefully) or new sporty ?

When you search Ebay you can set up a search radius. Try searching for auctions within 500 miles of your location. If your searious about bidding on a bike you could work on pickup or delivery with the owner before bidding.

I search the bikes all the time and yes, a lot of them get bid on but don't sell because the reserve price set by the seller does not get met. I have seen many bikes with $5000.00 + worth of accessories sell for basically the MSRP. If your not in a rush, it could be worth lurking around Ebay and finding a bike that's set up pretty close to where you want to be.

Good luck!

HDTRADER.COM,

However, I stole a bike off ebay. Dead of winter, 28 degrees, snow was flying in Illinois. I bid on bikes within 1 1/2 day drive time. You have three days to consumate the deal. I was not going to pay for anything until I could get my hands on it and check it out.

BID4ASSETS.com is another site for siezed property. Although I have seen bikes go for more than they are worth. Bid frenzy is what I call it. I want it, I will out bid you, I don't care how much I have to bid to beat you.

My recommendation, look at bikes regionally. That way you can get to them within a day, check the bike out and make your purchase. Be careful, there are Katrina bikes out there.

I didn't know you could do that with ebay , thanks , that will help a lot because I wasn't willing to send a deposit without seeing the bike. I am in no hurry , maybe I'll be lucky too and find a deal when it gets colder. There does seem to be an awful lot of bikes for sale out there.

I got my lead off of ebay. I kept checking, and finally one showed up in my hometown. I called him up, next day he cancelled the auction and sold it to me.
