That's life in the big city in Japan. It is very impolite to crowd in yourself, but it is an okay thing if you are shoved in by someone else. It's a Japanese thing.

I hope that nobody in the middle had to go to the bathroom really bad.

What I would like to know is this as I have not yet been to Japan -What happens at the next stop? - Do a lot of people miss their stops because they can't get off or do half the people pile out and then get back on? I have ridden trains in many many countries but this always looks like utter chaos to me!
