Default RE: polishing the chrome

Welcome, I also just picked up my first Harley '05 EG Ultra. All black, chrome extras (front end, hand controls). Like previous post said, there's a forum here for detailing etc...

I've been rather fanatical about cleaning all of my bikes, including my new Harley. After lurking here, I learned about a few great products. First, I've been cleaning my bikes for a bit over 25 years, but I don't pretend to be an expert.

I just recently picked up the Klasse All-in-one and Klasse Glaze. In my opinion unbeatable products especially for black paint, after the first application my black paint looks like a black mirror!

For the chrome, I use a couple of things: To really shine it up I like Wenol polish, to touch it up I like Never Dull. I also use the luster lace for the spokes.

On the leather I like Lexol cleaner and the Lexol conditioner. 303 makes the only UV protector for leather that I've seen (should stop the leather from fading???)

I also picked up a Black Baron dryer, never used a dryer before, but this is my first touring bike and there are just too many nooks and crannies for water drops to hide in. I have well water, and the water drops leave hard spots if the bike isn't dried propperly.

I love S100 products and have been using them for years, there new engine brightner (I think it's to keep the black parts looking great) works very, VERY well. I also use there detail wax as a touch up.

Finally, get a good set of micro fiber clothes! You might even check out the site: www.hawg-wash.com some good info/products there as well.

hope this helps,

This is better suited for the detailing section.
