Default drive belt

The drive belt that goes to the rear wheel, do you have to put any belt dressing or any thing to keep it from drying out and to make it last longer?

I had 95K miles on my last bike. Never touched the belt.

Yamaha;
Poly-Chain belts require no lubrication. In fact any petroleum products may shorten the belts life..What usually goes first are the pulleys wear out. Hawgley

Keep clean, and to reduce pulley wear I use dry graphite "dust" applied to ribs of belt, with back end lifted off ground apply and rotate in nuetral one way to get trans pully, then other to get rear wheel pulley.

Reese;
Graphite is an abrasive..I would recommend spray silicone lube instead but to each his own. Hawgley

Superlubricty of Graphite:

"Graphite and other lamellar solids such as molybdenum disulphide (MoS2) are known to be good solid lubricants and thus, are widely used in practical applications. The low-friction behavior is traditionally ascribed to the low resistance shear between neighboring atomic layers of these materials. The slipperiness of graphite, responsible for its excellant lubrication properties, is also observed in frictional force microscopy experiments , in which friction coefficients as low as 0.001 have been found. "

But to each his own!
