My noise is just started built 8/26.

The tag on the neck is dated 7-06. I haven't seen a day of the month on anything.

i have a 2007 road king flhr built 8/11/07 at first i heard a whine and a kinda metalic slapping sound when in 5th gear. but after riding her for 700miles highway and around town i've learned some things. i don't have a rpm gauge yet, but the bike doesn't really like 5th gear until 60 to 65 mph and 6th gear only above 65 to even 75 under acceleration. when cruising down the highway 6th gear is fine at 65 but under thottle u meed to down shift to 5th or accelerate slowly. maybe the noise is coming from shifting to 5th at 40 to 50 and the 07s don't like it, IMHO
