Default locking gas caps.....any problems ??

I put on one of them locking gas caps (yes I broke down and got an actual H.D. part instead of aftermarket) and while I like the idea , it kinda worries me . Has anybody ever had one decide not to come of or unlock ?

Just got one for my Sporty. You have to get used to the routine though. As of yet, no problems, but I'm real careful with it. And $40 bucks for an HD cap is expensive, but I bought one anyway alongside my SEII's. Good luck.

I've had one for a couple of years now - never had a problem.

It's a well made item and I can't see that it would be any better or worse than a regular locking gas cap

I had a H-D locking cap for around two years so that is about 24,000 miles so well used. Then one day this summer it decided not to work and I had to force the barrel out of the cap to enable me to open the tank and fill up. Have since reverted back to the original screw one. If I can be bothered I'll buy another one keep the receipt and take the broken one back a couple of months later, [:-] so I'll then have a spare. Why should I pay twice for a product that went unuseable on me?
