Indian Joe great work on the fender rearlly looks the goods. I would not have guessed what it was. Really looks smooth and that paint just seems to flow over it.
Nice work.

Quick update on my bike.  Added the twisted sissy bar, retro seat, v&h big radius, fuelpak, big sucker, and custom a/c cover from AZECE.COM‏, tinted turn signals front and rear, willie g skull derby cover and gas cap.

Just a few questions on your bar bag. Looks Good.
Do U need the rack for it and how does it attach.
How much can U put in it.
What dimentions is it.

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner on this, but I got busy RIDING, and flat forgot.
Anyway the bags internal dimentions are about 7" high X 6" wide X 4" deep. If I remeber right its a fairly cheap bag I got just to toss a couple of bungee cords, a baseball hat, a digital camera, and some other little items in.
No you don't need the rack with it, IF you bolt it on like I did. I used a pair of cable holders to fasten it on up top and a I used a pair of threaded standoffs with stainless steel screws and washers on the seat mounting studs. Between the four points it holds the bag very solidly up and off the rack, and more importantly off the fender.

Here's a couple of pics for you.

Sorry I don't have a pic of the standoffs, and the cable tie down's are white, but I couldn't find any black ones. On the plus side the white ones are easier to photograph to show how I did it. I'll be replacing them with black ones as soon as I can find a pair.

Oterwise it almost looks like it belongs on there,

Get a free account at someplace like photobucket and load the pics there and you can link them to here. Linked pics are automatically reduced to an acceptable file size.
Check around there is a pinned thread on how to post pics.

Tony I like the front fairing looks good. A pic of the bike side long would be good.
They seem pretty pricey though for what they are? How much did ya pay.

I got a great deal on it at the dealer, they had a big kinda like yard sale and I picked it up for $20. I figured if I didn't like I wasn't out much. It turns out though I think it looks pretty good though.

Great help. I am just looking for something like that to drop small items like phone & hat etc.
Will look around see what turns up.

Tony Great price. If you didn't like U probally could have turned a profit on ebay. Wish my dealer had deales like that.

BlackDragon,
I tried to look the bag up at Hot Leathers, but they don't seem to have it. I wasn't sure who made it and still can't say for sure. I just know that I got it at one of the local biker stores and it didn't cost very much. I was just looking for something to drop little things in that were too big to fit in my pockets.
Here's a link to the closest thing I could find from Hot Leathers.

http://www.hotleathers.com/detail.aspx?ID=22170

The bag doesn't have a label on it anywhere so I have no idea who actually made it. Its really fairly generic and there are probably more than a couple of different versions made by other company's.

Well guys, it was fun while it lasted.  I just didn't quite feel the connection with my Custom that I felt with my last two bikes, so I decided to trade it.  I only lost $3,200 in the deal, so it's not that bad.  The first time I saw a Crimson Red Sunglo Road King Classic, it just called out to me.  I wanted the bike right away.  That was a few months ago and they sold that bike.  My wife has been talkin' about wantin' another Sportster, so that got me thinkin' about that Road King again.  We walked in the dealer and there sat another Crimson Red Sunglo Road King Classic.  Now that bike resides in my garage.   I have to say that I don't feel guilty about that trade at all.  Oh and we also wound up gettin' my wife a 883 Low in the same color.   Sorry to "bail" on you guys, but I just had to do it.  I'll still be poppin' in here to offer my opinions on things.  And one other thing...... Just because I have a bagger now doesn't mean I'm gonna vote for every damn bagger in the BOTM contest.  I won't be one of "them".   Oh yeah....Here's a picture.

Well, I did it. Got my Short shot staggers put on this past Friday. I love the way they look and sound. I will post a pic when I figure out how to use the digital camera and then have my friends 4 year old son show me how to post a picture.

Can some one post pictures of the rear fender with out the seat. I just noticed my rear fender is a bit scuffed up when I removed my seat. There are some light scratches on the sides of the rear fender where the seat hangs. Is there spossed to be a protective film or something. Any one else notice some cratches?

What seat have you got on BLACKDENIMRIDER..i had a retro KING/QUEEN seat on my bike for a while and i noticed that on the right side of the fender a scratch was appearing (quite a bad one actually) when i had a good look at the seat i noticed that their seemed to be a piece of steel or something pushing through the covering (no splits) that was causing it...in my opinion those retro seats are s##t anyway because of the bolts that are supposed to attache them to the sissy barr (but they look so good).
I have a solo seat now which is made of leather and has proper carpet undernaeth to protect the paintwork.

Hope this helps..

Hello there Softailers,

After many years of saying, "it looks like a Harley", "it soulds pretty good", blah, blah, blah.
I have finally come into the Harley Davidson World. It is different on a Harley !!
The wife and I purhcased our first one a couple weekends ago.
It is a 2008 Softail Custom. So far it has been Awesome !!!!

This was a show bike at the Cincinnati V-twin expo. It was to show the pipes.
They are Python Venom Radius, manufactured by V&H and sold thru Drag Specialties. The differences are, there is no seam in the heat shield, no tips, and has Python wording in the chrome.
They sound really Good !!!!
When we saw this on the dealers floor, I said, "I love those pipes", the wife said, "I like the color", Black Pearl.
So that was it, We had, "Fallen in Love at first Sight".
It has been an excellent experience so far.
Also pre-installed were the V&H fuelpak and the HD high flow filter.
I have added a few things since. I need to get some updated pictures. I am going to try to post one now that we took just after getting it.

Citoriplus, nice add-ons. Tach looks great.  I've wanted to add that to my Softail Custom 08 since I got it.  Was it difficult to install?  I'm not very motor savvy but could one read directions and install the tach with ease or should I look at taking it to the dealer? Thanks.

If your just looking to install the tach its not rocket science and if you can follow directions its not all that hard. But as far as I know they still don't make a tach setup for the stock handlebars.
To get mine on I changed the handlebars, cables, control wires, brake line, and added the tach. Its not something I would recommend you try unless you have a fair degree of familiarity with the bike and the tools needed to 'play' with it.
But if your patient and can follow directions you can do it too. Just don't get in over your head cause I have heard of places charging double for fixing customers screw ups.

G'day guys. Some great bikes and tips in this thread.

Back in February I traded in my old 98 Superglide on a 08 FXSTC. Here's a few pics.

Mods so far: S&S mufflers, K&N air filter, SERT, Kuryakyn grips & pegs, front blinker relocation, Tri Bar LED and other chrome bits and pieces. Love that Tri Bar LED. I just whacked on some 4" risers to try out and one day I'll move the forward controls more forward (I'm 6' 4"). Only cabling issue with the risers was the front brake line, just had to release it from the lower triple tree.

Sounder,Bike looks great! If you get a chance, can you post a picture of the front of you bike? I would like to see what the 4" risers and the relocated blinkers look like from the front.  Thanks
