Thanks Fella's,
I guess I'm a little too excited, but to me it makes a world of difference from the rear, and side!  I'll definately keep posting.  I have several mods coming up shortly.  Here's some daylight shots:

Jim

That tailight really finishes off the rear, very tasty ....

Hey thanks!  I think so too, now if it'd just stop raining!

In the mean time, I know alot of you guys probably already know about this place from other bulletin boards, but I only found out about it recently.  It requires you to search by HD part and the prices are WAY less than HD.  Has anyone used them?  Are these actually HD parts?  It has this tailight I just installed & I think only HD sells them.  So not to down HD, but I'll be doing my shopping there if it all pans out.

ex.  I'm looking at a windshield for $399.99 at my dealer.  This website says $313.00.  Let me know what you all think!

Yea, they are well known and often mentioned around here.
But thanks for thinking of us, most of us need all the help we can get feeding our "addiction".

Hey about that kit for the led taillamp and the bobtail rack. I was reading another post, and maybe I read it wrong, but they said they bought the kit with the rack for the led taillamp and they said that it didn't work. So the dealer contacted HD on it and HD said "NO, the led taillamp will NOT work with the bobtail rack, even with the adapter kit". Does anyone know for sure whether that kit will work or not?

Skips69, TY, bro.
Actually gonna put on slightly bigger bags, bolt-ons, and get rid of the throwovers. Givin' them to my bro with a Sporty, perfect size for him.

Jim, LOOKIN' GOOD, bro!
As far as a windshield, I got a "Memphis Fats", by Memphis Shades, about $265. NICE quality!
Screw Harley and the $400+ price for the same thing! LOL

IMHO, certain things SHOULD say "HD" on them, but other things, well...

I love the Chubby low profile. I'm 5'10 and really helps out on long trips. Especialy with no wind shield. Quality is top notch.

TWolf,
Is your Memphis Fats windshield removeable, like the HD quick disconnect?  It probably isn't worth the extra money to me for that (for the HD one), but I'd really rather not have a lot of "docking hardware" left behind.  That being said, I don't mind 15 minutes of work to take off a windshield & brackets!!  Can your send your part number too? Thanks Bro!

As far as that side mount license plate holder goes, there really isn't alot of room to mount that sucker fella's!  I'll show ya how it turned out with some pic's shorly.

Last two, looks like I have a little slant, may have to adjust it.  I think I did "okay" at hiding the wiring though.

Coolhand, Hey, Bro!

That MS windshield is not a QR with pins or clamps, BUT it does come off quickly with the allens they supply. I washed the bike today, and I R&R'd that sucker as quickly as any HD product, I just keep the allens in my bags.

More important, I was at the dealer today (BTW, you have a PM), and I realized the MS windshield is THICKER than the HD! Yeah, no BS. I didn't pull a micrometer on 'em, but I like the FACT that mine is more solid than a HD screen. hehe

As far as a part#, here is a link to gauge what you may want, there are MANY different sizes AND colors available. They say a 17" is good for a guy about 5'9". I got a 15", since I am short, and I have 2" of adjustment on the forks of that FXSTC. I fit it perfectly to my line of sight. I got the clear, call me a traditionalist!

Too much snow now, I haven't been able to truly road test it yet for comfort and fit, but I'm sure I'll be happier than a pig in... Uhh, a warm blanket?? heheee!

Seeya,
- Ted

Hey all. Here's my 07 custom.
I've had it since last August and have added V&H BSS, SERT, Stage 1 A/C, LED tailight and relocated the front turn signals.
Will be looking to switch out to an aftermarket seat, extended forward controls and 16" Wild 1 apes
in the near future.

O.K...this is before the handle bar upgrade.......I'll post some before / after pics of the front end and bars when the fat mini apes, lighted mirrors and handgrips are installed this weekend. Will allow for the disposal of the front turn signals. As it sits, has V&H Big Shots staggered, V&H Fuelpak and Ness Big Sucker along with the retro seat. Was supposed to put the bars on this weekend but believe it or not it snowed here in Tucson.....don't you northern folk feel for us down here!!!!

Nice bike AZM, really like the retro seat.

Any issues with the V&H fuel pack? I am going with the V&H Big Radius soon and don't know if I should go PCIII or the fuel pack.

I've no issues with the fuelpak.....from what I gather here the PC III is much more versatile though. I'm not looking at any internal mods anytime soon so the fuelpak works for me. Apparently some people here don't like the fact that V&H doesn't share their maps, well other than the standard downloads. This will cause issues if you start doing motor upgrades and the like. Was told that the bike hit the rev limiter quite early but with no tack it's hard to tell where that is??? Took the fuelpak out of the mix and it was about the same so it's nothing to do with that. Honestly I have yet to really test the issue, I ride between 75-85 with a few bursts to maybe 100 when cruising so not really a problem for me at this point.

Here are a couple of shots with Kuryakyns Hyper Charger & Mustache bar installed on my 07.  The Mustache bar (IMHO) is a "cheaper" alternative to extended forward controls (for all you long legged bro's!) It does not interfear with the front fender (not even close), and I have mine adjusted about as far forward as it can be.  I'm 6'1" and my legs are just slightly still bent (so I won't get lock knee'd)  I got it from a local dealer for $139.00 + the pegs of your choice.  I like the idea of having three different positions for my feet for long rides.  On the stock pegs, feet draped over the stock pegs (with the pegs in the backs of my ankles) and then this new position, which is a little more elevated, but not uncomfortably so.

As for the Hyper Charger I have not received my Power commander & pipes as of yet, however there is not significant decrease/increase as I can tell.  It IS slimmer than the stock air filter & immediately noticeable when I jumped in the saddle, the stocker always rested against my inner thigh.  If I drop my feet over the tops of the stock pegs, only then does the hypercharger touch my thigh, and then only the back edge.  More power or not, I have always loved the looks of the HyperCharger, I think it looks like the blower off a funny car I guess!!  The 07 has more than enough power for me STOCK, so If I loose a little power by adding some additional parts for beauty, so be it.  Better photo's when the sun comes out!!

Here is my updated custom.  Big Sucker, PCIII, Rinehart 2-into-1s.  HD compact detachable windshield, stealth grips, knurled chrome pegs, pedals, and shifter.  Chrome pod covers and diamondback cables.

The lessons learned from the stage 1 upgrade is posted a few pages back for anyone who wants to read.

I knew I would be addicted to riding.  I did not know I would be addicted to customizing.     Shit, now I need 16" apes and the retro seat!!

Here's the Vance & Hines Shortshot Staggered Pipes, I think swingarm chrome covers are gonna be a must!  They are quite loud by the way, but hey it was only $280.00!  V&H does offer a quite baffle for these.

Good choice of colour there Chester

I'm intrigued as to what you have on your sissybar.

Sorry I missed your question. The Pic is from the day I picked it up and it was only about 50*, it's a knit (now don't flame me) West Coast Choppers hat.

Hi Glazer, your bike is looking good. Red / black is a very nice combination.

You say "factory seat put on a diet", from the picture you posted it appears pretty much stock - another pic on the way perhaps?

Welcome to the forum.

Paul thanks for the welcome, I had a local upollstry shop take and inch off the top and each side of the main seat.  He could have scooped two inches out of it (kinda wish he had).  And an inch off the top and narrowed the passanger seat some too.  He then reused the factory covers and cut off the excess.  I like the look, just wanted it smaller.

Looking forward to NO SNOW, glazer.

Had the dealer throw in the retro seat when I bought my bike. That stock seat looks like a couch it is so damn big!!!!! Honestly, the retro seat is not really too bad......put the stock seat on once and the difference in comfort was negligible.......no where near enough to warrant the 'couch'.....when on that thing I have a tendency to reach underneath to try and find the remote!!!!

I haven't been able to find the recliner button or arm either.
Its getting a little frustrating not being able to lean back and relax for my naps sometimes.
I get cranky when I don't get in my regular naps.
