Default Windshield scratch remover?

I posted a while back about some small scratches I got on my windshield
while cutting it down.

Someone suggested "Novus #3 heavy duty scratch remover" would get rid of them.

So I ordered the stuff, and number 2 as well because it says you need that after using the #3.

Tried to get rid of the scratches following the directions on the bottle and...

Nothing. It did nothing at all. Even the very finest, teeniest, of the scratches was completely
uneffected by this stuff and I rubbed the crap out of it.

My only remaining hope is trying this stuff with some kind of electric buffer, otherwise I wasted $20.00
on this junk.

Anyone ever do this?

Go to the local drug store, pick out a good brand of "Whitening" tooth paste, and use it as polishing compound to remove scratch. Won't take it out completely unless you are very, very patient. I do this with my CD's to make them playable. It takes care of surface sctatches but not deep gouging.

Default RE: Windshield scratch remover?

I just used a polish made for plastic called Safe Cut. It's also safe for paint and clearcoat. I've had this bottle of stuff around forever. Took a little elbow grease, but it did a decent job on the windshield scratch.
