Bolt on, to the front engine mount. You can barely see the bolt heads under the horn, in the 4th and 5th pics.

WARNING..****, make sure they don't extend far enough out to change your "lean angle". You don't mind your pipes dragging now and then because they are behind the center of effort but if something in front of the center of effort should drag first, the results could end up being a high speed high side.

As I review my above comments I can see where they could cause confusion. Another way of putting it would be: If the bars hit the road there's a possibility that instead of dragging they might dig in to the road surface and cause a wreck.

OOOOOPPPPSSS! Have to go back to the Drawing Board. Believe it or not, when braking the bar contacts the Front Fender! All my measurements said I had enough clearance, surprising how much the Forks compress during moderate braking! Oh well, back to the Design phase!

Hell if the bar touches the front fender while braking moderately, imagine if you really hit the brakes.Or a bump or hole in theroad for that matter.I'm sure you'll figure this slight dilema out

Ok I put something like that on the intruder for the old lady .Nothing made big for that bike found.. The more I thought how she rode when she lays it over on it,s side that bar is going to stick like magnet gone. My syster in law had an set made for here sporster. Harleys have nice mounting spots.

What if you cut the bar at the center point. Then using 1/4 inch by 1 inch flat stock stainless steel form it to bend around the frame tubes and weld that to your mount you already made. Then weld the round stock to the flat stock. That will give you the clearance needed when braking. You will lose some rigidity but under normal conditions that stainless will not twist or bend. Just my thought.

Thanks, I'll look into that! Lookin into something that bolts between forward control brackets and frame too.

I am attempting to make something very similar to this.  Well really exactly this same design.  I thought of it on my own.  I will have to check out the clearance on the fender that is not something I thought of.

I was just gonna mention that.....I put a mustache hiway bar on my old sporty. I hit a helluva pothole and bottomed out. put a dent in the fender...Another remedy.........I installed Progressive springs that got more stiff the farther they are compressed. That helped.    Good luck!

Well my highway bar is coming along rather nicely.  I am waiting on pegs I ordered to get the fitment right then it needs to be painted.  I will not have pics done for a while yet.

The clearance on my bike is fine.  I am not sure what is different but I can fully compress my front springs without having it hit.  I say this as to not discourage someone else from trying this design for their bike.  The only reason I can think of is that my bike is a Custom.
