There has to be a bunch of you bikers out there that own 120+ci bikes.I would like to compare notes about gearing,tires,fuel delivery etc.My late model 124" bagger has been an absolute joy to ride this past three seasons.The combination has satisfied all my wants for a bagger.Before that I built and rode just about every possible combination,from hot Sportster's to big motored choppers,Superglides,you name it.The new one going together is also a late model bagger, but with a 155" TC,and would like to hear from any of you.
Me too, also anyone have any feedback on the Ultima engines?

Rhode warrior,I can say that while in my search for a big motor,The Ultima engines were considered.I sure liked what I read about them.What worked for me, was to visit the shop you are considering buying an engine from.If you are not into building your own motor,take a friend that is.It will be worth the time spent,and it is fun at the same time.What are you thinking of for cu in and what would you put it in?
I want the 127" motor. It's going into a 250 tired raked out Pro Street bike.

Hmmm. A 155 ci on a stock frame and what size rear tire? On my custom prostreet chopper, I have the el bruto 120. I can't use all the power the engine has. I start to lift out of the seat when I do a hard throttle. Now back to the frame. I have a Redneck Engineering frame with 1 3/4 tube thickness that can handle that type of power. IMO, 155 ci is on hell of a strong engine and a lot of wear and tear on the frame, gearing, primary. I take it that you are going to use an open primary with outerbearing support? let me know..I'll post pic's of my chopper , once I figure out how to post pics.

APD Motor Unit
The frame I bought can definitely handle it. I was thinking of going with a BDL or Primo open primary but I just found out that Ultima now makes a primary for these engines. Anyone have any feedback on these primarys?

So far, I have heard really good things about the ultima primary. I have the BDL TF 2000 with the out bearing support. This unit is rated to handle 600 HP. My only issue with this unit is when I was finishing build. I found that the rear drum was .0018 of inch off when I "miked" it. A very noticible wobble. The whole unit was sent back three times before it was corrected [on my dime]. BDL tech is less than desirable. Other than that , it has been going strong for about a year now. Next subject -frame- "fat baggers, inc" sells a bracket to keep the frame tight and reduce the wobble you may feel that it is accustom to baggers. I believe it is a 300 or 400 dollar part. That's good to hear about the Ultima unit because I like the looks of it. I ran a BDL for a while, one of the units they were selling a couple of years ago, and the only complaint I have is that the clutch was noisy. I mean it sounded like crap. I hear the new clutches are quieter.

The 155" will reside in a stock 05 FLT (sleeper bagger) frame that is now in the surgery stage. It has been opened up to recieve the 1 1/8" taller TC.Using stock primary chain with hydraulic tensioner,5 speed trans with billet trap door,1 1/2" Kevlar belt.For now,a stock rear tire.This bike will not be visiting any drag strips,on an occasional street duel.Of course it will be a little one sided.This motorcycle is being built because of the need for a little fear factor,which really ramps up the fun for me.I have a modified 124" Bagger now that is an absolute pleasure for brisk cruising.Again,once I find the time to figure out how to post pic's you will see my handywork.Dog
