This is a basic question. I have noticed that the term Stealer is used for Dealer. I am wondering if you currently have confidence in the dealer that you purchased your bike or accessories from ?

This should be a good one

I said yes because the current dealer hasn't screwed me...yet. I've had three bad ones and two good ones. But once the warranty expired on the sporty, I took it to an indy anyway.

I said yes but a better answer would have been most of the time they are OK. I don't have complete confidence in their abilities though.

The dealer I bought my bike from didn't even remember me a month later. Now the dealer or should I say the parts man knows my name and are very nice.

They were nice when I bought .Brought it back for free 1000 mile and got the bike back a quart low on engine oil .Never went back there or any other dealer.
I must say it is a great bike.Only a couple of small problems in 20,000 miles.

So far, so good with my dealer. I know of a few people who would like to burn them to the ground, but I have been given no reason to feel that way.

Yes, I trust mine, I was an auto mechanic for 20 years and i'm sure there were people that didn't trust me. Even though I never tried to sell anybody something they didn't need.

I hate the word "Stealer" You do realize that everyone employed at the dealership wants to make a decent living just like you. Of course they have a high markup and labor rates. Techs and parts people have to have a good knowlege of what they are dealing with. Like I said, I was a mech for 20 years, but I can guarentee that those techs know a hell of a lot more about servicing a bike than you or I. (Unless you attend there training courses, seminars and keep up with all the service bullitans that come out)

My dealer and all the employees there have been great since I've been going there for over 9 years. They not only have treated me like a valued customer, but have always went out of their way to treat any member of my family, well, like a member of theirs.

Jones H-D in North Little Rock is pretty good. They are forthcoming in all areas, and if they can't get to it, they tell me instead of stringing me along.

Not a real tough question as far as I'm concerned.

My dealership has been and is nothing short of fantastic.

I get service and maintenace reminders, thank you's, post cards, sale coupons, discounts, open house inventations, a personalized custom calendar with a photo of my bike an myself, happy _________ holiday cards (just plug in the holiday). Now this has been OVER a YEAR since I purchased my new RK.

And they know who I am EVERY time I walk into the door, or call on the phone, be it Sales or parts or attire.

I sledom go to the service desk, but even as unfrequent as I am their, I get the same courtious responses and answers to any questions as well.

And for any that want to know who they are:

Southside Harley-Davidson/Buell
Virginia Beach VA

http://www.hrhd.com/location_sshd.htm

I'm not being paid for any advertising, good gosh the money that I'm spending on my RK turning it into my rendition of an Ultra!

I wish that I was being paid. I am proud to let you know who they are, they have done me right in all respects. Can't beat them hands down.

I feel sorry for those who don't have a dealership with all that Mine has going on....

A Dealer is a little community with all of the elements that you would find within any large group of people working together. It is to your advantage to discover who the players are in terms of their function & capabilities. For example knowing who the most proficient wrench is & who scheudles his work can be a plus when you need service. There are two people qualified to do dynos at my Dealer. One is excellent & is known to squeeze every bit of performance possible out of a bike. The other person is good but does just enough to be acceptable.
I think that we should have some sort of indication about the skills or lack of, that the people have working on our bikes. Ain't we all family?

Bought mine from Mancuso Harley here in Houston. For years they were the only Harley dealer in or around Houston. Then came Republic Harley, Stubbs Harley, & Woodlands Harley. Mancuso opened a second location about 1/4 mile from my house so I went there for convenience. Problem here is they still act as though they are the only dealer around. The sales rep treated me great, until I signed the papers and left. After that they had no idea who I was. The service department is a joke. The parts people are pretty good, as long as I'm not interfering with a personal phone call. And could someone explain to me why everything I want has to be ordered, and take 10 - 20 business days to deliver?

what he said.

I have dealers located closer, but went to one a bit further because my business goes where I'm treated best.

I was in and out a few times before deciding on my current bike, met several of the sales staff during that time and anyone I've see after the purchase always says a warm hello.

When I brought my bike in for service they were 100% helpful, had a nice waiting area to hang out in:Big screen TV with rock music videos playing, fresh coffee and snacks.

Parts Dept is knowledgeable/awesome

The motorclothes gurlzzz sweet.....
