Bender Headlight Evokes the Attitude of its Namesake

The new Fat Bob headlight is gaining in popularity and we can see why.

We’re a big fan of the new Fat Bob headlight design known affectionately as the “Bender eye” by some Harley enthusiasts. Anyone who’s a fan of Simpsons creator Matt Groening’s sci-fi series Futurama is familiar with the foul-mouthed robot.

This post from Reddit shows that at least one owner has converted his riding buddy to the Bender side of the recent Harley headlight debate. We think everyone will eventually come around, see the light (sorry), and hail it as a classic in years to come.

While we’re partial to the traditional look of a round headlight, a little change never hurt anybody. There’s not a lot you can change on a motorcycle to dramatically update the styling, and this futuristic (yet still retro-flavored) LED headlight is probably one of the best ways to go about it in our opinion. Hey, and if you don’t like it, you can bite our shiny metal ass!

Anyways, since we’re on the subject, here’s a highlight reel of Bender’s funniest moments from Futurama. Go ahead and take six minutes to relax; we checked with your boss and they said it was okay.
